Welcome to a traditional and inovative tea shop

 
In the early 19th century, Tea shop HORAIDO was opened in Teramachi-dori. The shop owner, Mr. Yasumori always welcomes customers and talks to them about tea, tea utensils, tea culture, and so on, if they like. He is a gentle, sincerer and knowledgable person, who would like introduce traditional high-quality tea produced in Uji. In the shop, a variety of tea is stored in traditipnall large tea pots and packed after receiving orders. He admire his family who is very helpful and support him. You probably know the name of Genmai-cha, tea with roasted rice, which was invented by HORAIDO and called "Horai-cha" as its original name.  When you visit Tea shop HORAIDO, you will have a warm welcome by Mr. Yasumori and his family and feel the atmosphere of traditonal Kyoto.
